wow... yarnwench that re-creation is absolutely stunning.  I wish I could see it in person so I could examine all of the tiny details

Wow, thanks you guys!  Yeah, the pink and purple is all embroidery floss (the thicker, "craft" kind) And the details are all yarn, except for some metal star studs, which i have had for about 6 years and with which i am very miserly because i'm not sure i'll find them again, and buttons that i cut off of some shirts i dumpster-dove.  I actually didn't pay for any of the materials, and i was running out of embroidery floss, so i finished it off with buttons.  I was afraid livineasy wouldn't like it, but maybe i'm my own worst critic.
Hers is really cool too, and really well executed.  She added some more 3D elements to blend with the relief.  I like that she didn't stick with a viking theme, but instead created rastafarian space pirates, your new idols.  OBEY! OBEY! OBEY! CONSUME! CONFORM! MARRY AND REPRODUCE!

You probably are your worst critic. That has been my favorite so far. Absoloutly Gorgeous!

Okay, finally, I was able to upload my pictures, so here they are!!
I forgot to get before pictures on both of these (booo!) but you can imagine what they were.

Here's the picture I found that jessicakes sent back to me:

I had to take the picture at an angle because the light would be absorbed in the glass eyes. She's as creepy as she was in the first place, but after the makeover, she's honest about it. Jessicakes gave her highlights, a sun/moon to bathe by, some bat-friends, and a nice fire to keep her toesies warm. Thanks!!

And here's what I sent back to Jessicakes. Before, it was just a beach-scene velvet painting. But now:

The whale is quoting John Donne: "Who casts not up his eye to the sun when it rises? but who takes off his eye from a comet when that breaks out? Who bends not his ear to any bell which upon any occasion rings? but who can remove it from that bell which is passing a piece of himself out of this world? No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main."
S/he has those blue doll eyes and embroidered water spouts (water spouts??). I didnt hear back from Jessicakes but I hope she liked it!
