I have a couple of Ouija Boards that I have picked up at Goodwill that have been sitting on a shelf ignored and unused.
So when I came across this lamp on http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=199527.0, I knew I wanted to do the same.
Fast forward months later and I still hadn't begun. I had collected a lampshade, but alas I couldn't find the perfect one used in the inspiration lamp, so I made do. I carefully peeled the paper top from the board and decoupaged it onto the shade. I robbed a black feather boa from an old piece of lingerie, added some ribbon and a dollar store bird and called it done.
But it sat unused until the end of September when DH called me out on my laziness and said I would never finish it. That lit a fire under my butt and I quickly found a lamp at Goodwill that I could robbed the light kit from. DH then promptly attached the light kit, added a red bulb and hung it for me in the dining room.

And without further ado, here is my Ouija Lamp.

And with the red light on.

I do admit that I think the original lamp looks better, but I am happy with the end result. I have delighted in my BIL's freaking out, and the admiring glances of friends who appreciate my spooky decor.

Smiley Thanks for the compliments!

My SIL was totally making fun of her husband, "Oh Tony, don't be such a baby. He's so superstitious."  And he's all jittery, "we gotta go. I can't be in a house with one of those things."  We all laugh, because we also have had an Oujia Board hanging in the kitchen for months, and he has been in our house many times since it's been hung.

I LOVE THIS!!! I'm so gonna have to try making one.  We do Halloween big time inside our house (not so much outside, I know, I know that's backwards, but I'm inside more than I am outside) and I've never done anything to decorate my lamp.  I think this may be a must do.

I have to make one of these too! I have an old wooden ouija board that hung on my wall for years until I recently moved and haven't found the right spot for it yet, but I am sure I will! And I will also make room for this lamp! It's so awesome!  Grin

Love it!!  Great job, I'm assuming that you had to tear apart the board somehow to make the light visible?  maybe it's early and not enough caffeine and/or eureka juice isn't enough yet.

Wow, apparently I haven't checked my replies to posts in a long time, because I didn't know that all these comments were on here.  Thank you everyone that posted!  I am glad others are inspired!

Radmom-I think you figured this out already, but you have to peel the top paper off the game board. The inspiration post shows you how.

BlueCherryFaerie-We live in an apartment, and have never had a trick or treater.  Sad  We buy candy just in case, but not one single knock.  But that's okay, because it's Halloween every day of the year inside our apartment. I'm lucky my Hubby is a Horror fanatic, because he's on board with the Halloween kitchen and spooky decor.
