ever since i read "making your own misfits" i've been trying to make my own lil creatures. petey is my least creepy, most succesful lil buddy to date. he is an awkward (drunken? asked my girlfriend. he just has a lopsided body!) lil owl. thoughts? what is another easy animal to make?

Petey's lopsided eyes also help the drunken look  Wink although he looks a very amiable drunk.

Perhaps you could try some mammals? Pigs maybe or sheep, they'd have easy round(ish) bodies
