So many wonderful things! I love the ruffly scarves, the lip balm, the boot toppers -- and I'm definitely doing the squirrel house over the holidays at my parents.  My folks have a bird feeder that flips the squirrels off, so they've been reduced to eating seed off the ground. (The rodents, not my parents!)  It may assauge their squirrelly pride to have a little Christmas house of their own.

I'm knitting frantically to get things done in time; I'll probably be wrapping up christmas Eve -- again.  and is it wrong that I've already lined up all sorts of projects for January?

52. Chocolates!
To go into the Christmas plates I'll deliver Saturday; chocolate covered Oreos, milk chocolate truffles and mint/white chocolate truffles

Peppermint bark, peanut brittle, "movie bark" (raisins and peanuts in milk chocolate), tiny rice crispies in milk chocolate and toasted coconut in dark.

Not shown are the pine nut and pepper brittle, chai cookies, and dired cherry, walnut and dark chocolate bark that already went out.

53. Owl cowl
A bad picture, the owls show up much more clearly IRL.  A fun quick knit for a friend who loves owls.  From this pattern:

I have a hat and several cat toys awaiting a trip to the laundramat for felting, and a ton of butter, sugar and eggs awaiting transformation into cookies -- I love this time of year!

Yup, they are done by hand!  Just felt and embroidery floss.
Steal away!  They were quite fun and easy to make!

Oh wow, look at all those treats!  Looks delicious, yofi!

katara...I saw that you were making sock monkeys again!  I would stuff the arms and legs and leave about an inch unfilled at the ends...pin them to the body and squish them togethe.to the inside of the body...sew the body together leaving a hole at the top or bottom of the body...turn inside out, stuff the body and then you only have the one opening to sew inside of all the arms and legs...You can do the same with the tale if you make the back two parts...that is how I do stuffies like that as I hate to hand sew!!

Alwaysinmyroom - I'm not quite sure what you mean... The body doesn't have any side seams??

I will try to find the one I used with almost no hand sewing at all! I don't even think I sewed the ears on by hand and just a tiny part of the mouth...I should just make one and take pictures... Cheesy

yofi - what yarn did you use for the owl cowl? I love it!

fantasticmio - you must love your mom to pieces!

Here's what I accomplished this weekend - 5 batches of cookies! We have cut-out cookies, peanut butter blossoms, gingerbread men, cranberry almond biscotti and cherry chocolate chip biscotti. I also got to try out this gigantic (like, 8"!) snowflake cookie cutter I bought on sale after Christmas last year. Smiley

Love those cookies, indigo_roses, especially the snowflake.  (I've got to get busy tonight on baking!)

The yarn in the Owl Cowl (that *is* fun to say that!) is Red Heart Boutique Eclipse, in the sunset color.  I've still got a skein and am going to try and make a matching pair of mitts -- I think alwaysinmyroom posted a pair a few pages back!
