Trying my own version of crockpot/slow cooker Mac and cheese, hope it comes out well so I can make it and take it to a few parties this next week as a side dish

CROCKPOT MAC AND CHEESE
ingredients:
2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
2 cups milk (to make lighter you can use skim but I use 2%)
1 can evaporated milk (not condensed)
1 tbsp butter (melted)
1 egg
1/3 cup sour cream
2 cups shredded cheese (at least half sharp cheddar for the best taste)
1 tbsp spicy brown mustard
Season to taste (I used 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tbsp Mrs dash, 1/2 tbsp onion and garlic flakes 1 tsp lawrys)

directions:
oil a medium crockpot
Pour in macaroni
Melt butter and cream cheese and sour cream mix with mustard and spices, pour on top of Mac and stir together
pour can of milk over the mix
Beat 1 egg into the 2 cups of milk and pour over mix
Sprinkle with cheese and stir

Cover and cook on LOW for 2 hours, if you are not sure of your crockpots cooking speed begin checking for doneness at about 1.5 hours and be prepared to let it go as much as 2.5

Sprinkle a little more cheese on top and serve

And YES I know it is fattening, Hell I cant even eat it cause of the pasta though I did taste it and it is amazing but it is a SIDE dish for parties and not intended to be Weight Loss friendly

Every year my son and I put together a gingerbread house kit. After Christmas we take it outside for the squirrels. This year we decided to make a more squirrel friendly house. I made the gingerbread from scratch and put it together with peanut butter.





I also made a rice bag for my Mom.

Here is a small update on what I currently have pics of anyways...

Peppermint Lip Balms for my brother and sister-in-law for xmas


And them wrapped up like candy...


A card for my sister-in-law's bday like one I have had pinned on pinterest. I made it out of 2 pieces of that thin cardboard that comes inside fat quarters. The paper is scraps from the album I made for their wedding 5 1/2 years ago. The rest is white embroidery floss. The "wicks" of the candles are embroidery floss soaked in mod podge and then dried on wax paper.

All of the festive crafts I'm seeing are wonderful. Love the peppermint lip balm wrapped up like candy,adore the gingerbread house that is more wildlife friendly, and the gazpacho - SOUPER!  (said in my best Dave Lister voice) THREE of those ruffle yarn scarves = bonus daughter points I'm sure 

My doll is giving me problems. I wanted brown fuzzy yarn to make her hair and can't get it locally so I'll have to compromise with non-fuzzy brown yarn or white fuzzy yarn. My original plan was to use crochet thread on a wig cap but it is taking waaaaay too long and isn't any fun and if I'm not having fun then I'm not doing it!

AlishaMisha--I love the your packaging of your lip balms!  Such a cute idea!  And the card is so cute...I like projects that use little bits of paper!

QNM--your tradition with your son is just wonderful!  I bet he looks forward to that each year!  I bet the squirrels look forward to it as well!

Trina!!!!  Your yummy goodies are making my jeans too tight!   I just called hubby to see if we had sour cream at home...this will be for dinner tomorrow night! It will go good with the salad...

Mio--is that yarn hard to work with?  Your mom is going to love them...ruffled scarves are so pretty...is that the yarn they call sashay?

oh SilverMoon--you are indeed speedy with your crochet!  And, I so admire your nice tight stitching in all of your projects!

K-star--I am glad to see that you are still making your dolls...they are so creative!

The red one is Starbella and the other two are Frill Seeker. I find the yarn to be a huge pain to knit with - each stitch seems to take forever. The scarves work up quickly only because not mny stitches are needed, which means, ironically,  if you're a somewhat slow knitter, you'd probably love this stuff!

Ok, got some projects to share!  I've been a busy bee!


Black boot cuffs made from a sweater I got at the thrift store for my mom for christmas.  This part is made from the bottom of the sweater.  The buttons are decorative, and don't actually work.  I'm not that cool.  ^_^  I need to learn how to make buttons holes.  I'm just happy that I managed to sew majority of this on the sewing machine.


More black boot cuffs made from the sleeves of the same sweater for my sister.  No buttons on this one.  And it only required the ends to be sewed up, and that's it!

Oh, and here is how they look with boots.  I had a hell of a time trying to photograph my own legs in boots, but here is the most passable of the pictures.

I love the little buttons poking out!  I only had black boots available, but my mom's boots are brown, so they should look good.


A crown for my niece's dress up box, made from crocheted lace and stiffener, and then painted with gold paint and added a vintage clip on earring and button.


Felt mustache bottle markers for my sister.  They have a circle of elastic sew onto the back of one side of the felt mustache, and then another layer of felt is applied on top to cover up the sewing with embroidery floss.


2 sets of cork wine markers for my mom and sister.  I think I used like 3 corks total for both sets.


And a commission from my hubby's friend who wanted a sweatshirt with the house crests from Game of Thrones, like my hubby's Star Wars achievement badge sweatshirt.  In exchange, she game me wine.  Yes, that's right, I will craft for booze.  I'm like a hobo in the crafting world. 

And I'm still working on a million things, so I will have more to show in the next few days!
