Silvermoon - I've tried listening to one or two books on tape before but had a hard time getting into them. I think I'm just too easily distracted and once I miss part of the story it's a hassle to go back to what I missed. Maybe I'll try it again though.

Jilly - Love the little birdies! They're so festive but could be left out all year  Grin

Continental is holding the yarn in the left hand--very fast!  English is holding the yarn in the right and then wrapping around...I don't wrap at all when I knit...I just grab it out of the left hand...I knit super fast...but crochet faster! Cheesy

I think there are different names for it, but I was taught that it was called English knitting.

In that case, I can't knit English either Cheesy

I did too, until I started listening to the Dresden Files read by James Marsters. You've just got to have a hunky guy with a dreamy voice as an introduction to audio books I think  Grin

K-star--it is how you learned...both end up the same! Cheesy

waggonswest...what a cool story behind your leopard wearing santa!

I am definitely a visual person...I can't do audio books or even music when I craft...

My Mom tried teaching me to knit "English" 100's of times; I never could do it. A few months ago... somebody taught me "Continental"... it's not as if it's THAT different, but somehow... suddenly!... I'm able to knit!

I made my Mom a wash cloth. Still need to give it to her Smiley haha. I'm possibly making her a scarf too. She doesn't really wear them, but it's from MEEEEEE... and I knit it myself! She has to love it. Or else. haha.

104. Two specifically-instructed-coloured Daleks and a Tardis (you can't really see, but the panels are outlined in embroidery)

105. Four different fridge magnets as end of year gifts for teachers and kinder leaders.

Wow! Loving all the yarny goodness.
I'm almost finished with the junk jewelry encrusted mirror for my little sis, hopefully in a day or two I can take pics. I didn't end up making presents as much as I thought I would this year, sigh. But I still have lots of baking goodies for presents in my future!

I too am a very visual person, but I have a two track mind. I love to have shows on that I have already seen or movies that I can rewind while I craft. Or I have a Japanese anime that I listen to at a very low volume that is basically background noise.

Still plugging away on a pair of socks for my dad. They seem to be taking forever.  Cry
