Especially since I've been sucked into the Game of Thrones series - I wish there was a way I could read and craft at the same time.

So said I - until I discovered audio books Cheesy

And yes, as a knitter of one year, and crocheter of several, crocheting is easier to learn. Always - by "knit English" do you mean Continental? I recently taught my mother (77yo) to knit Continental like I do, and she's been knitting since she was a kid. She was delighted "It's so easy and quick - just like crocheting!"

sheepBlue love the cowl! I've often looked at that pattern, but I don't need another scarf really. I never thought of making it a cowl! Your's looks lovely and cosy!

I am sewing up a tardis, and then I shall have to take photos of my last few days of work - said Tardis, two Daleks, and 4 fridge magnets for teacher gifts.

Continental is holding the yarn in the left hand--very fast!  English is holding the yarn in the right and then wrapping around...I don't wrap at all when I knit...I just grab it out of the left hand...I knit super fast...but crochet faster! Cheesy

I think there are different names for it, but I was taught that it was called English knitting.

OMG, sheepBlue. I need one of those ornaments!!! Is crochet hard to learn, lol? I'd do it just for these! Love, love, love!!

Omg, me too!  Those are awesome sheep!  I've always wanted to learn how to crochet.  I knitted a scarf once and then gave up on knitting and starting doing loom knitting instead.

Love the cowl, too, sheep!  Yay buttons from STS!  I will hopefully have my ceramic ones for the next round.  I didn't have them up long enough for people to claim, I don't think.  I really want to seem them on some knitted lovilies!

love the hat, yofi!  Very very pretty!

Oh, I have my Ho3 stuff to share with you all!  Yay!  Here's what I sent to loves2experiment!

Mixed media Ho birds made from paperclay and covered in acrylic paint and other assortments.  I even made their little hats and the presents.  The hats make me giggle.  And I'm not just saying that, I was actually giggling while I was making them and putting them on the birds.  ^_^

Framed watercolor art using masking fluid and then I added white gel pen for swirls.

And a pillow!  I stenciled the Hos on the burlap using a freezer paper stencil and fabric paint.

Oh and I sent these to tapestrymlp in the the STS:

As an Englishwoman I knit English (of course  Wink) can't get to grips with the yarn being in my left hand and to slow me down further I'm a "thrower" instead of a "picker"  Roll Eyes I knit the same as I did as a 9 yr old just bigger things now  Cheesy

Silvermoon - I've tried listening to one or two books on tape before but had a hard time getting into them. I think I'm just too easily distracted and once I miss part of the story it's a hassle to go back to what I missed. Maybe I'll try it again though.

Jilly - Love the little birdies! They're so festive but could be left out all year  Grin

In that case, I can't knit English either Cheesy

I did too, until I started listening to the Dresden Files read by James Marsters. You've just got to have a hunky guy with a dreamy voice as an introduction to audio books I think  Grin

K-star--it is how you learned...both end up the same! Cheesy

waggonswest...what a cool story behind your leopard wearing santa!

I am definitely a visual person...I can't do audio books or even music when I craft...
