Thanks for the toothpick link!  I just think those would make a great gift for some of my hard-to-buy for friends and family!

You must share how you did the toothpicks....

I was also intrigued - I found this tutorial Smiley

That's exactly the tutorial I found to make 'em!  Thanks for posting that!

This year for Halloween I made all of my children's costumes. My boys went as Link from the Legend of Zelda (one as adult Link and one as Toon Link) and my girls were both Alice in Wonderland.

The tunics were just green t-shirts. One I left as is and the other I cut off the sleeves. The undershirts were just long sleeved shirts that I purchased.

The belts and boot covers were made from some brown butter suede that were in my poppet supplies. The tutorial I used for the boot covers can be found here.

My older son borrowed his sisters white leggings and my younger son is wearing tights that I purchased. I couldn't find fleece or jersey knit in the right shade of green for the hats, so I bought another t-shirt and just cut out triangles and sewed them together.

The swords were purchased at a Halloween shop and the shields is foam board that my husband and I cut out and then painted.

With the exception of the tights, shoes, and bases of the headbands, the girls costumes were all handmade. The dresses were made based on a combination of this tutorial and a pattern that I purchased from etsy. I got the pattern for the bodice piece, because I didn't want to cut up a t-shirt and because it came as small as three months. In my babies I built in a bit of a petticoat made from nylon chiffon. For my older daughter I made a white pettiskirt following this tutorial. And it took forever, but it was worth it. All my kids love it.

I made the apron by modifying the pattern for the dress bodice.

I also managed to make this bracelet and ring.

Post with links to tutorials here.

Meleriffic, your kids' costumes are super cute! The Alice dresses are adorable but your little Links are my favorite. They must have had a blast playing in their costumes.

I'm up to 32 projects!  Smiley  And I'm proud of myself for this.  Wink I finished up two projects today. The border on the hexagon afghan (I finished the afghan at the very last minute in 2011) and I finished the  shades of pink afghan I started a few weeks ago for Zach's grandmother.  I think next weekend I'll make our stockings for Christmas that I've been going to make a couple of years.  Huzzah for a 3 day weekend next week!

I've been lazy lately with taking pictures off of my camera. When I finally do that, I will have a few projects to share. I have been very crafty lately! Cheesy

meleriffic, awesome job on the costumes!  Your kiddos are sooo cute!  I ended up not getting to make a single item for Lana's costume...it was supposed to be steampunk and I got a red riding outfit for the base.  That was my undoing...Lana thought the LRR outfit was cute as is and didn't want to do anything steampunk even though we had the googles and aviator hat ready.

Okay, here we go! Everything from stash except for the wooden pegs and the Koolaid.

These are the two I made for my aunt. I really like how the ghost came out but I didn't know what else to do for Frankie.

Mini books and bookshelf. The bookshelf is not finished. I'll be adding more things to it but I don't have anything to use from stash.

All of the books are blank inside except for one. I did random painting on the pages. Here's a glimpse...

The last mini book I made and my favorite. Was playing around with some things. I glued paper flowers to the base of the book then covered in aluminum tape, did some texturing, then did a red paint wash over it to give it color.

And my first attempt at dying yarn. I used Koolaid.

I like the color you got on your yarn. It's very pretty. And the mini books and bookshelf are great.
