trina--I love the prayer flag project!  Thinking of having some of my friends over to do a party as well...I have been stamping words on plain fabric and then stitching them onto the background fabrics...I am working on a sea themed one now with batiks that remind me of the ocean...

underthemountain--hot pepper jelly is a favorite one of mine...made from jalepanoes...you don't need a lot and you can make red and green---I give them as gifts each Christmas as hostess gifts and it is the most requested item I make!
Spread on a cracker with cream cheese--oh yum...even kids like it! Cheesy

Love the prayer flag project, trina! I can't wait to see the ocean prayer flag, always. I have been wanting to make a flag for the OMA project:

http://theprayerflagproject.blogspot.com/2012/07/call-to-artists-prayer-flags.html

But am having trouble translating my future hopes and dreams into a flag. I think I have an idea, but I'm running out of time to execute it.

And hot pepper jelly over cream cheese is one of my absolute faves. Now I'm hungry!

mama24boyz received the shirts I sent her on Friday so I can finally share the pictures with you guys!  (it was one of the items on my August mini list!)

Here they are!  They are freezer paper stenciled and sport Link's strapping on the front and his shield on the back.  I even got to use some of my silver fabric paint!  Weee!

Here's more on it:  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=413917.0

I got to try pepper jelly a couple weeks ago at the indoor farmer's market.  The one I tried was a Merlot flavor.  It was really good!  My husband and I bought a beer flavored one and used it on chicken for my birthday party last weekend.  It was soooo good!  Guess I have a new canning endeavour to try now!  I love canning apricot jam for the sole purpose of using it to cook with on apricot chicken.  Mmmm!!!

Wow, it sounds like you really have a lot on your plate right now. Hope things get a little less hectic soon. Smiley
Thanks! I hope so too!

mmm... love a good apricot jam! And I love love love a good pepper jelly too! Unfortunately cooking is not one of my skill sets, so I am super leery of making my own, but am always happy when my friends make some! Smiley

Have any of you successfully dyed paper (cardstock weight) with coffee? I made a couple of cards (using Micron pens) and then managed to spill coffee over parts of them  Angry  I am not quite willing to give up on them (since I was actually quite happy with how they were looking) and thought that maybe I could salvage them if I made it look intentional. I have used coffee to die paper before, but it was paper weight and prior to drawing on it... Any thoughts or suggestions?

All the jams have been looking so good! Jilly those link shirts are so cool!!

So my personal swap package finally got received so I can share some things from the August challenge that I made.

Hoopla using one of my screen print flamingos as a start. We both wanted to play with embroidering over screenprinted images. More pictures at the post http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=413935.0

And then some screen printed pillowcases as well. With what else but an awesome jawbone print I made. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=413933.0\

And (obviously I've been screen printing a lot) this month I did a couple of shirts for my bf's brother's wife for her to regift as xmas presents later.

I think every piece of art I made had some coffee spills... Cheesy  Not on purpose, though...maybe if you put it on some tissue and then wiped it on?  I have put grounds on paper and let them dye where I wanted...I am sure you can save it!

Love the flamingo hoop -- embroidering over screenprinting is wonderful!
