Woo, I'm excited that I finally get to show you all the new peg people I did!  I originally did a set of 8 super heroes (a set for my nephew and a set for texscrapper).  Well, I had so much fun doing those, that I did a bunch more!  This time a 2 sets of villains and another set of heroes (and texscrapper and I did a personal swap so she could get more, too!).  So, here are the 48 new peg people I painted in July!

And here is the link to the project if you want to see each individual and their names:  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=412470.0

Then in August so far I've made:

A bracelet for me!

Some bracelets for others!

And some altered keys for my Seattle craftsters meetup!  Yay!

Awesome pegs!!! And I love the bracelets too.  I just ordered some delica seed beads to try to make those picture bracelets, I'm gonna have to give those a try too!

I absolutely love love quilts, do you think an afghan is a fair trade for a quilt? I'd love to swap!

*Try four new crock pot recipes -  One down. Praline chicken. It was pretty bland out of the crock pot. I had to cook it on the stuff with more syrup and brown sugar. Then it was pretty tasty. I served it over pasta, which was so so. I can't think what else to do with it. I have lots of left overs.

Jumping back in for August

-4 car seat organizers
-halloween wall-hanging as work display project {I work at Fabricland now:)}-sorry no picture, my camera is missing and I had to turn the project in this morning.
-Western costume
-something for school challenge
-wall-hanging and display for TOPS street fair table

of course nothing off my list, but my major list needs major revamping anyways, off to do that now.

My mini list for the August challenge:

1. WIP: "Subtle" Bribe dishcloths for co-workers (I have 19 finished, and am aiming for 40)
2. WIP: Gryffindor Scarf for my niece.
3. WIP: pink/maroon hat.
4. WIP: Pompom Rainbow baby blanket
5. WIP: Golden Fire Spiral Hex baby blanket

I'm crossing off the first item on my mini-list.

As a thank you to my co-workers for promoting my crochet classes (and jokingly as a bribe to keep doing so ^_-) I made them some dishcloths.

We have a lot of employees, so I'm not sure how many I'll need, but I'm hoping that 40 will cover most of them.  I'm working tomorrow, so I'm going to count the people on the schedule and see if I need to make any more.

I counted this as a WIP because before I started, I had 19 finished dishcloths, and this project required 21 more to make it an even 40.

So on Saturday morning, this is what I had:

(On the right: 19 finished cloths. Top left: yarn for the rest. Bottom left: progress made Friday evening and Saturday morning.)

Here's the latest 21:

And here are all 40 together:

All 40 stacked up:

I got all the food done and it went over BIG, people were so happy to get yummy food after a 16 hour work day!
Lessons learned, I like unusual food but when people are exhausted they want SIMPLE, the lasagna (2 large crockpots full) and the enchiladas were a hit and they liked the rest but didn't eat as much.
So next year I will make less types of food and more of the simple stuff like lasagna, enchiladas, a big baked real mac and cheese, a simple chicken cheese quinoa dish for me and the Gluten free crowd and just 3 types of Brownies for dessert and little ice cream cups with some sauces, tons of garlic bread and some simple veg like green beans in butter and a medium green salad, fewer Items but lots of it.

Right before the con I scored a 2 piece angelfood cake pan for $1.20 at a thrift store and so I made crockpot Applebutter and used it to make an applesauce cake with homemade caramel sauce and also I made an AMAZING banana cake, to be honest I cheated and used 3 boxes each of those little JIFFY muffin mixes and used 2/3rds of the wet ingredients and 1/2 of a small package of pudding and for the apple cake I used 10oz of apple butter (half in the mix and half spooned in as a filling) and 3 very mashed over ripe bananas for the other

Tonight for Alex (My poor exhausted husband who worked so hard for this convention) I made (homemade and grown) Pesto butter Parmesan encrusted Swai (Fish) and green beans with a sliced Roma tomato.

jillybeans--love the altered keys!  Also, what a great way to use up seed beads--love the tri-color bracelet--like a candy corn for your wrist! Cheesy

fantasticmio--holy cow!  Those are a lot of dishcloths for just crossing off ONE thing on your list!:D

j_kieviet- welcome back...love the mini lists---

trina--you survived!  Hope things get back to normal for you soon!  I have found that with large crowds, comfort foods are the hit...and most of those contain high fat like cheese or mayo...it makes it yummy and people do not feel guilty eating them at events! Cheesy

Your cakes sound so yummy!

Oh boy, more canned stuff. The spiced honey looks yummy, I should remember that for after September, there's lots of honey left over after the new year.
Always - the honey mustard sauce sounds delicious.
Sarah - cool tire covers, I'm wondering what would happen if I drove behind a car with the spirals cover...
smashu - working with siblings is fun, isn't it? I wish my crafting brother was closer, so we can do some cool stuff together.
SilverMoon - the month just started, and you are already mostly done with the challenge, way to go! I love the color of the gloves, and now you have me thinking about a beaded nyan cat  Cheesy
Jillybeans - cool bracelets. I saw them yesterday, when you posted them in the jewelry board, but couldn't comment (couldn't reach the keyboard due to sleeping baby). I wonder what it would look like with different colors for the different strands of the braid.
fantasticmio - that's a nice big batch of dishcloths, the last pic looks like a stack of colorful pancakes (or is that just me being hungry?)
trina - you made it through all that cooking, you're amazing. And you got everyone fed and happy, always a good thing Smiley

I think I managed to figure out my mini list for august:
1. enter current Craftster challenge - got the food made and pictures taken, need to write it all up and post
2. finish X WIPs from my craft boxes (need to take a look and see what's in the boxes, X will be a proper number tomorrow, I hope)
3. create a tutorial for one of the beaded chains I make
4. create new years cards to send by the end of the month
5. 5 more simple beaded necklaces for my nieces
