I was going to make pepper jelly for the food challenge, but then was given the dill, so opted for dilly beans. maybe I'll do pepper jelly this weekend.

Woo, I'm excited that I finally get to show you all the new peg people I did!  I originally did a set of 8 super heroes (a set for my nephew and a set for texscrapper).  Well, I had so much fun doing those, that I did a bunch more!  This time a 2 sets of villains and another set of heroes (and texscrapper and I did a personal swap so she could get more, too!).  So, here are the 48 new peg people I painted in July!

Awesome pegs!!! And I love the bracelets too.  I just ordered some delica seed beads to try to make those picture bracelets, I'm gonna have to give those a try too!

*Try four new crock pot recipes -  One down. Praline chicken. It was pretty bland out of the crock pot. I had to cook it on the stuff with more syrup and brown sugar. Then it was pretty tasty. I served it over pasta, which was so so. I can't think what else to do with it. I have lots of left overs.

Jumping back in for August

-halloween wall-hanging as work display project {I work at Fabricland now:)}-sorry no picture, my camera is missing and I had to turn the project in this morning.

-something for school challenge

of course nothing off my list, but my major list needs major revamping anyways, off to do that now.

My mini list for the August challenge:

1. WIP: "Subtle" Bribe dishcloths for co-workers (I have 19 finished, and am aiming for 40)
2. WIP: Gryffindor Scarf for my niece.
3. WIP: pink/maroon hat.
4. WIP: Pompom Rainbow baby blanket
5. WIP: Golden Fire Spiral Hex baby blanket

I'm crossing off the first item on my mini-list.  

As a thank you to my co-workers for promoting my crochet classes (and jokingly as a bribe to keep doing so ^_-) I made them some dishcloths.

We have a lot of employees, so I'm not sure how many I'll need, but I'm hoping that 40 will cover most of them.  I'm working tomorrow, so I'm going to count the people on the schedule and see if I need to make any more.

I counted this as a WIP because before I started, I had 19 finished dishcloths, and this project required 21 more to make it an even 40.

So on Saturday morning, this is what I had:

I got all the food done and it went over BIG, people were so happy to get yummy food after a 16 hour work day!
Lessons learned, I like unusual food but when people are exhausted they want SIMPLE, the lasagna (2 large crockpots full) and the enchiladas were a hit and they liked the rest but didn't eat as much. 
So next year I will make less types of food and more of the simple stuff like lasagna, enchiladas, a big baked real mac and cheese, a simple chicken cheese quinoa dish for me and the Gluten free crowd and just 3 types of Brownies for dessert and little ice cream cups with some sauces, tons of garlic bread and some simple veg like green beans in butter and a medium green salad, fewer Items but lots of it.

Right before the con I scored a 2 piece angelfood cake pan for $1.20 at a thrift store and so I made crockpot Applebutter and used it to make an applesauce cake with homemade caramel sauce and also I made an AMAZING banana cake, to be honest I cheated and used 3 boxes each of those little JIFFY muffin mixes and used 2/3rds of the wet ingredients and 1/2 of a small package of pudding and for the apple cake I used 10oz of apple butter (half in the mix and half spooned in as a filling) and 3 very mashed over ripe bananas for the other

Tonight for Alex (My poor exhausted husband who worked so hard for this convention) I made (homemade and grown) Pesto butter Parmesan encrusted Swai (Fish) and green beans with a sliced Roma tomato.

welll done and yay for it being over! One less (big) thing on your to-do list! The dish your hubby made sounds amazing!
