I've been crazy busy in the last few weeks!  So - here's a project I made that wasn't on my list but it is now!  Homemade maracas for my classroom!  So much fun!  And really pretty easy!

those maracas are cool! I love the colors. what did you use for the round ball part and the noise-maker aspect?

The materials I used for this include 3/8" dowel rods cut to a foot in length.  wooden toy truck wheels.  ping pong balls.  The noise-making aspect are BBs.    The person who originally made them used lead shot (like you use to fill a shotgun shell) but I couldn't swing $50 for a 25 lbs. bag.  So BBs it was.  Much cheaper and I'm still pretty happy with the sound they make.
