Here are my finished socks. I have a bag full of leftover bits of fingering weight yarn and none of them is enough for a whole project. So I made these first with some fair isle color work.

I really like them but I wanted to make a second pair that are both stretchier and taller to keep me warm. So I made these. They're just striped - no stranding or anything like that.

At least she will get to visit it since it's a SIL.  If it was for a craftster she might never get to see it again Grin

And add my drool to your socks cinnamon teal.  I can't imagine making 2 things that looks the same, let alone fit the same.  I bow down to all sock makers Grin

who knew fair isle knitting could be so hip?

I have started yet another project (I think thats 5 current WIP, not including several years-old ones). I am teaching myself to crochet using a fab periodical that was my gran's from the early 80's called busy needles. Its a bit daggy in parts, but helpful. I bought some beautiful acrylic/milk protein yarn on clearance and it was so soft I had to buy it even though their was only one ball. I think I've managed to follow the pattern pretty well, but it seems a bit stiff. For you crocheters, could this be due to the hook being too small for the yarn?

More than likely, try going up a hook or two in size.

A lot of new crocheters also crochet very tightly, so try to just ease up on your tension too

I also have to say I LOVE your socks cinnamon!
