waggonswest, nice mug rugs!

Whether this project is eligible can be debated but I've been working on my business website for a REALLY LONG TIME!  I had to tweak the layout, settle on a colour scheme, and write the content.  Plus I created the logo based on the tree image that an Etsy member drew up for me.

It's a pretty basic website but my skills are only so developed and I'm still really happy with it given my personality is not an overly fancy one anyway.  I was aiming for calming and comfortable.  When I look at the site with my boyfriend's laptop, the colours seem overly grey because of his inferior colour card but I like the look on my computer.

I still have some photos to add (that I will take myself!) of the treatment room but I have to wait until we finish renovating it.

The rainy day hoop is wonderful. 

Mug rugs are great - Ive been meaning to make some, but haven't yet.

ZombieLili - great art work, I'm always jealous of people who can do art. I can do copy, but not original.

Cinnamon teal - The cardinal is fab, I love this bright red bird. and the socks are perfect. I admire anyone with patience to make socks.

Luckdragon - nice work. I love the travel embroidery kit and the fabric used is lovely. The colours on your calorimetry are so pretty together.

I just finished a project that I wasn't aware that I needed.
It's valentine's next week and I will be away from my OH. First time in 8 years. I've already got him some Blu ray's for valentine's day. Whilst at work today I had a moment of inspiration and thought I could make him a little something just to remind him of how special he is to me.

I'm so dang pleased with myself on how it turned out It's a drawstring backpack for my upcoming disney trip It's fully lined and even has a pocket AND a removable velcro panel inside for pin trading

Michelle,  I started with a package of adjustable paper crowns I found in the kid or teacher aisle at Michaels.  Let me know if you can't find them.

Then, the Valentine's Pillows:(I'll just post a group shot)  
Oh, some of  the pillows have a blank Aida Cloth heart , even as a pocket on the big one. I just edited in text to suggest stitched in lettering.  I made hang tags for them with paper sewn to fabric. The tags aren't shown, and I'm counting them as a separate project.I need a close up of them still.

Then, the 2 banners for a religious theme- Large (23"x45") and Small. (11"x18") Large one is for someone else, small one is for us.

The banners are machine applique. I used rubber cement to hold the gold design in place, to avoid too many pins. It is made in a heavy weight rip-stop nylon.(1.9oz. weight) The gold is also the same nylon, with a metallic coating. I have a lot of gold  from a job that went wrong a few years ago! The white is gro- grain ribbon.I just drew a white pencil line, and stitched it with only a few pins. You want to always sew lines like that in only one direction, or it will pucker funny.  I lined it with cotton duck, and the dowel is enclosed. There is no top-stitching on the edges. And, there is a middle layer which the applique was sewn thru. That also helped with puckering from sewing. You cannot see the stitching on the back. It was sewn and turned inside out.
  Tonight I am playing around with a Raggedy Ann pattern.  The instructions are missing, so I decided to make one to write an info sheet. The pattern is being sent to a student in the U.K. I'm making myself a copy.  It was from 1958, and seems to have a lot of popularity lately.

Loving all the projects being posted recently - its a bit hard to keep up with all the awesomeness!

I finished two hooplas for myself this morning  I was burned out on hoopla for a while but I'm feeling re-energized at the moment which is lovely because it is such a great destressor in the evening.

I also took the opportunity to have fun and learn a bunch of new stitches. I'm especially thrilled with the bits that are basically mini weavings with embroidery - I will have to do more with that!



I've wanted to do a rainbow color wheel type sampler for a while 







I also did a little freeform embroidery for fun. I need more text on my hoopla wall. I dyed the fabric used in that hoop too.
