I did a post here on one of my finished projects! I made a bunch of children's hats from scrap fabric for a charity called Kaps for Kendall. I'm posting the pictures here anyways

QNM--I always use two strands in the looms unless you like the spaced look...I have also used fabric cut about 1/2 wide...even with chunky yarn, I throw in some other worsted just to have two strands...

You guys are killing me...I am almost done tallying up January and already there are so many things for February to count...lots of reds and pinks, which make me very happy!

Ok, for those of you who have used a knitting loom I need help!    My first hat isn't looking right, is there a specific size/weight yarn I should be using? This is what mine looks like so far

It looks to spaced out, I don't want to keep going if it's not going to turn out right.

That actually looks right. That will leave you with a light weight hat/item when you are done. As said, try using double strands if using worsted weight or you can use a bulky yarn. The hats I posted on the other page were also made on the KK loom and done in double strand of worsted weight.

I got project number 3 done last night.  We got a new furnace yesterday and they put n the new controller in a new spot which left a gapping hole in the wall where the old one was.  I decided to just cover it up, as it is an orange peel wall, so it would be hard to match the texture.  I found a piece of vintage fabric from a scrap quilt my grandmother made that was so far degraded I took it apart for the fabric.  The back is also vintage from my Mom's fabric stash.  I am not fond of white, so I covered all the white in paint or acid free felt pens.



I used all kinds of techniques to cover the white...I don't much like white .  SO I used acid free felt pens, free motion machine embroidery, hand embroidery, hand quilting, glitter glue, glow in the dark paint, scrap booking 1/2 round pearls, and acrylic letters.

I'm pretty happy with how it came out.  I think I will like it more once I gt other things up on the wall tho.  It looks lonely now..

I've gotten on pink and one red thing done (both crocheted hip scarves) and finished another hip scarf...  I'm on one heck of a roll, as long as my hands hold up.  I've also done some artsy stuff, that counts as a craft, right?

I'm trying so hard not to add all the great projects I'm seeing to my list of "want to do".  So many great ideas!  Dangerous, this swap is...

suereal: Your wall hanging looks great! I love that you gave new life to some of your grandmother's old quilt AND used it to cover up the hole in the wall!

I finished up a couple things recently, too. First up, I made these little bird plaques for the pinterest swap. They're painted on some leftover plywood that I cut down to size.





And here's a pair of socks that I made for myself. Just because.



There are more pictures and info on the socks on my blog for anyone interested. (And btw, my feet are actually pretty much the same size. The pic just makes them look funny. It is really hard to take pictures of your own feet!)

oh cinnamon teal those bird plaques are beautiful!  And those socks!  OMG!  They are AMAZING!!!  I wants them.  ^_^  I cannot believe people can makes socks!  I've always wanted to knit/crochet socks, but I lack the skills.  I can only loom knit hats and scarves.
