What a fun idea to bring Red a giant beer in a form the hospital will allow.

If the layer cake falls through and you find yourself having to make the cake yourself, I made a rainbow cake in one layer for Australia Day two years ago (http://silvermoon-dragon.blogspot.com/2010/01/giant-lamington-suprise.html) and again for Miss Six's fifth birthday party. It's just as many dishes, but one seventh of the cooking time as a layer cake. And also has less frosting/cake to it so you can eat bigger pieces (and have less leftovers!)
I wanted to see the cake, and the link doesn't work. It says page doesn't exist.

Thanks for showing the cake tute, SilverMoon! I think it looks like a shooting target in the pan. Showed it to my Mom, the official resident baker. She's never seen anything like it!

Thanks for sharing, Silvermoon!  I could possibly manage that!  Cheesy  If the layer cake falls through I shall definitely try that.  heck...Aria loves rainbows so maybe I should make it anyhow just because.  Cheesy

I love rainbows too, and if I hadn't had an Australia Day party to take that first one too, I'd have made it "just because" - because it's a rainbow cake and how could I not make one?

Glad you like it, they always go down a real treat when I serve them!

I have made 4 things in the past couple of days, but I am patiently waiting for swap partners to receive. But what I can say, as they know already, is that 3 of them are knit fruit and the other one is a sock monkey.
