It was based on the formula in this thread: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=388436.0

I used apricot kernel oil instead of the almond oil that was called for, as well as honey powder instead of honey.  I'll have to take a look at my notes because I can't remember the exact weights for the soft oils used.

ooo, using brads is a really good idea! you could swap them for the paper in the middle and then just pin them right onto things! now i just need to find some...

I made some paper flower hair pins and really nice Brads in the odd colors I needed (only 1 or two of each color) are actually a pain to find so I bought some pearl kinds and painted them with fingernail enamel, they worked great.  I am now buying them when I see nice ones I might actually use on sale.

Here's my first completed project for 2012 - a scarf to be donated to the 2012 Special Olympics! This was a WIP from 2011, it was delayed for Christmas presents.

Oh so excited to be back in town and able to play on craftster!!!

New lists, yay!  So inspirational.  Here is a start to mine.  I veered sooo far off my original last year and then I lost track of how many I did.  In an attempt to make an accurate count I am just starting with a list of WIPS . . . I will update as I go.

1. Chevron baby afghan for my sister's embryo
2. Sock/hat set for my supervisor's soon-to-be-born
3. Placemats/napkins/coasters for my mom
4. Flannel baby blanket for a friend's wee one
5. Flannel baby blanket for my cousin's wee one

Yay I just finished my first item for the new year! Oh yeah...have to wait for it to be received though    It's an awesome one though if I do say so myself - AND I am making a tutorial to go with it.

I completed my first project of 2012! It's 2 things, but they're pretty small so I'll only count them as 1.


The red one is to pin to my coat (as you can see,) and the brownish one is made of scraps from my failed attempt to make a dress. I'm going to make a skirt of the extra fabric, though, so this'll match it. The button on it is actually a lighter tortoiseshell color but the camera made it darker looking.
