Woohoo!  Finished another project and it fits the challenge of random act of kindness for January!

Behold a giant beer ...pillow!


A little back story I guess, Red, father to one of my mom's good friends has been in the hospital for a few months.  I saw this pattern in the Son of Stitch 'n Bitch while working on another project and a light bulb went off!  He loves beer, and unfortunately they don't let you have any in the hospital...so why not make some hospital friendly beer!  He loved it!  And it really brightens up the room of drab whiteness.

There's been so many neat projects posted, but it's  hard to keep up with them all. I like the lavendar and green in the bag, and I love the crown/tiara.
Nothing to post here, all my crafting right now has been for a swap. Eventually! And I have a three day weekend, so maybe I can get a bunch done. *crossing fingers*

She is totally excited about her birthday.  The fact that it is rainbow themed is icing on the cake!  

rlynn are you making her cake? I saw a rainbow layer cake on a blog last year sometime I'll see if I can find it (although it may be too late if the party's this weekend).

The beer pillow is great! Looks like its done a great job of cheering up Red and the room.

I love the colours in that bag (even if the bag itself isn't the most functional it will look great on display)

I'm not making her cake but a friend is...and oh yes...its going to be a fabulous rainbow layer cake.  Thanks for the PM with the link; that time lapse was pretty cool.  And oh...her party isn't this weekend!  I'm just getting started now because her birthday comes at the end of this term (end of March) when I will be busy grading papers as well as writing them...I know I won't have time to craft for her birthday then.

If the layer cake falls through and you find yourself having to make the cake yourself, I made a rainbow cake in one layer for Australia Day two years ago (http://silvermoon-dragon.blogspot.com/2010/01/giant-lamington-suprise.html) and again for Miss Six's fifth birthday party. It's just as many dishes, but one seventh of the cooking time as a layer cake. And also has less frosting/cake to it so you can eat bigger pieces (and have less leftovers!)
