sheepBlue, great bags as always. Is that Darth walking the AT-AT a stencil? I seem to recall seeing it on another bag, only the inverse colouring to this one.

I have a swap project finished. Well, it needs blocking - first thing ever I can't get away with not doing it, but the item itself is done. Took me longer than I thought it would, it's a WIP from late last year. Now I just have to figure out how to block something without blocking mats or straight pins.

Judging by how fast this thread has grown, you all must have had productive weekends!! I'll need to scroll back a few pages to see what you've been up to!!

I'm actually up to 10 crafted items so far, have to wait until items are received before I can post pics.  I was looking at what has to be done in the next two months.  Yikes....23 items need to be made in by the end of March.  That is kind of scary.  Guess I better keep plugging away.

Yay I can finally post pictures of something I've made this month! (I got my swap packages sent out so pictures of those items should be forthcoming soon!) - I'm back on track with my TM goals, and I made two bags this month to make up for all my slacking through the fall. One is a regular big sized bag, but the other is a mini. I wanted to play with sizing, and also alternative handles/straps. Though I'll definitely keep the braided scrappy strap as my mainstay I think. But its just so time consuming to put together!  

And a side-by-side size comparison. I'm in the process of making a few more mini bags Harry Potter themed  

"SheepBlue" I love your bags they are a little different, but I like the handles & especially the small bag one. Is it macrame? I love that one very much. You always do such a great job!!!

SilverMoon - yes its a freezer paper stencil. It was the inverse you saw before on another bag. I like to use both parts  double the awesome.

I have a swap project finished. Well, it needs blocking - first thing ever I can't get away with not doing it, but the item itself is done. Took me longer than I thought it would, it's a WIP from late last year. Now I just have to figure out how to block something without blocking mats or straight pins.

Cover a piece of plywood with muslin, or plain sheeting, then staple it down with a power stapler.  You can steam it with the iron, or spray it moist with a bottle. It's not needed to soak it . Let dry overnight, and remove staples carefully with a screwdriver or staple puller.
  This is how furs are blocked, fur side down, but they don't use heat.
You only need a firm board slightly larger than your work. The fabric should be stapled to the back. You can draw grid-lines on it with a permanent marker if you want. Or use gingham even!
