August challenge on page 1!

basically, make a list of 5 items, including WIPS...finish those items and you will be entered in the drawing...finish a WIP, you will get an extra chance!

One catch:  once you post your mini list, you can't change it!  So be sure to select you list carefully...Cheesy

The prize will be a CRAFTSTER t-shirt of your choice!  I have three of them and love them to pieces!

I got two projects completed today and made a start on a third  Shocked

Hubby has started a martial arts class at the local leisure centre & needed a bag to carry his weapons unobtrusively through town. His weapons are two 28" long batons. I made a carrying bag out of the legs from a pair of jeans.Basically a long tube with a flap top and ties and I added an elasticated pocket to it to hold his water bottle.

I also revamped my shower curtain. I've had a ton of swimsuit lycra stuffed in a box for YEARS, I've used it as giftwrap, cushion inners, all sorts of things but never seem to have any less of it so today I cut a huge rectangle and sewed it to my old plain beige, boring shower curtain along the top edge. Its beige and functional on the inside where it will get wet but funky and fab on the outside now  Grin

August challenge mini list:

Weeping Angel cloth doll for my sisters 40th b'day on the 20th.

Knitted Dalek washcloth.

That orange skirt I've been avoiding now for months  Undecided

jeans tote bag

flower headbands and bobbypins

I love making jams/jellies as well. I had it on my list and then changed my mind. Cherry ameretto sounds awesome. I know someone with a cherry tree....hmmmm

I love making jam, but my family never eats it so I'm trying to control myself on the jam front.  My mom requested some strawberry jam, that's the only reason I made some.  I think I might use the cherry amaretto jam on desserts, like cheesecake.  Mmmmm!  I'm hoping to can some pickles, green beans, apricot jam (for apricot chicken, which is AMAZING), peaches and pears.  I live close to a farming community, and there are so many farms that offer u-pick.

What kind of things are you planning on canning this year?
