lovely socks, Kookaloo!  I'm so envious of those people who can make socks!  It seems so complex to me in my head!

Thanks ladies for making me feel so welcome!  Tonight is DH's late night at work, and I am on kid duty and have to make dinner.  I'll post my list (and I have a question) after they are in bed!

I feel all warm and fuzzy inside!  Grin Kiss

Ooo yes, come and join us, Miss Barbara!  This is a really fast paced and super fun group of people!  Everyone is so awesome and supportive!  Its a great place to see what everyone is up to and share your own progress!  Plus, the wonderful alwaysinmyroom does prizes each month to keep you motivated to try new things!  Can you believe that?!  She is so freakin' awesome!

I got a bunch done for one of my IYP20 Swap partners, and also stenciled my husband and his twin brother each a shirt.  My hubby has been bugging me and teasing me that I'm always making other people shirts and not him.  This is complete untruth, because half of the shirts he owns are ones that I've stenciled.  Anyhow, the one he currently wanted was such a super easy one, that I just broke down and made it for him.  I took a picture of it on my phone and sent it to him (he was at a church rehearsal) and showed his twin brother and then he wanted one, too.  I just happened to have a brand new light grey shirt in his size laying around so I whipped one up for him right then, too.  Here is a crappy phone picture of it (currently all that I have so far).  I didn't have a chance to take a picture of the other one because he already took it, before the paint was even dry.  I will have to get a picture of two of them wearing them together.  I believe they will both be wearing them next Sunday at church.  Silly boys.

I used a random font that I had downloaded a while back.  I don't remember the name of it right now, but if anyone is interested, I will look it up.

Oh, and I tried a new technique for my ATCs, shaving cream marbling!  Its where you take shaving cream and spray it unevenly into a flat dish, put some drops of food coloring onto the shaving cream, use a knife or whatever to swirl it around.  Dip/lay cards in shaving cream and pull out and let sit for like 5 minutes.  Wipe off the shaving cream and BAM, lovely ATC bases!  They were super fun to make.  Here's another crappy phone picture.

THEY'RE DONE!  The hip scarves are done!  I finished the last one at 7:00 pm on the way to the restaurant, handed them out at 8:30.  They were a big hit.  Here are the others:

#12: A second brown and burgundy hip scarf.  This one was made with the larger hook (which, surprisingly, doesn't make much difference in size or speed!), and has a lot fewer tassels because that's all the yarn I had.

#13: A second ice blue hip scarf.  This one really did not follow the pattern at ALL, the shimmer in the yarn made it... stiffer?  Or something, and it just wasn't working out.  I LOVED the way the last row looked with the tassels, though, and I think I want to use that all the time on the last row.

#14: Dark blue hip scarf.  My standard modifications to the pattern.  Love the color.

#15: Another two-piece red hip scarf, my friend saw mine and loved it.  The only difference is that she is TINY so I made the back of hers the same size as the front.

#16: Green two-piece hip scarf with the cool scalloped edge.

#17: Another green two-piece hip scarf (um, imagine there's a second piece just like the first under it, I didn't get it done until we were already on the way, so I didn't get a picture of it - but it's exactly the same).

And here they are all (okay, almost all, you can tell the green one on the right isn't wrapped in its flower yet!) packaged and ready to hand out!

I also finished my bookmarks for the bookmark swap, but they just went out today.  And my postcard project is almost complete, so that will be two more for the month of February!

Awwww....  Ok, well here goes my mini-list:

1)  Finish up crochet edging on fleece 'Tangled' blanket for my 7 y.o. DD for her birthday in April.
2)  Figure out what handmade item I will make (or personal swap?) for my 9 y.o. DD for her birthday in May.  (See thread in 'Friends of Craftster-Craftster Chit Chat'.)
3)  Make blankets for Project Night Night.
4)  Possibly make a springtime/lightweight poncho for me.
5)  Practice on sewing machine so I can figure out how to use it.  (Got it last year and still have no idea.)

Progress:  Almost done with number one, and then going to jump to number 3, since my girls asked me when we were going to get involved in this again.

Thanks again for the nice welcome ladies!  Grin

Those hips scarves are amazing!  I too love the blue one, but I think I would have to pick the green double layer ones my self. Fab, fab, fab!

Oh my gosh that's a lot of hip scarves! They look great, I bet everyone was thrilled.
Miss Barbara, I still have a sewing machine in the box, too! My big sis bought it for me-but I have no room to set it up, and no time to teach myself how to use it. I should add that to my 50 projects list.  Cheesy

Got three things done in the last few days, just had trouble finishing them off/weaving in ends/taking photos.

A scarf with my birthday Noro.

Matching fingerless gloves

A rabbit bookmark for Nerd Wars (that Miss Six claimed)

Love everything tht's been posted recently, hip scarves, hug shirts, and I think I might just have to try that shaving cream marbling!

jillybeans: I want to start doing some art projects with my niece this spring and summer that we could take to the park (my house is NOT kid safe) I think the shaving cream cards look like fun, those and the bubble painting people do with kids

Smeddley:  the hip scarves are amazing, and when you dont wear them they make great couch decorations, so very nice and elegantly off beat

SilverMoon: I wish I could crochet like that, Where did you get the pattern for the fingerless gloves??? I have a friend who I trade yarn to for little hats I like...I give her a skein of classic 7oz yarn in different colors for her to make afghans and donation scarfs with and for each one of those I also buy a 5 oz skein of SOFT yarn for my little hat and she gets to keep the rest, I love dark rich colors and she loves bright colors so it is funny for me to pick out colors for her.
