I love the doodle stitching!

I finished up about 4 more projects in the last few days but all are for swaps....so I won't be able to post them until February.  I started some butterfly wings for Aria.  She has a garden birthday party to attend in a few weeks and declared she wants to be a blue butterfly.  So I whipped out the coat hangers, pantyhose, and duct tape.  They are kind of massive wings.  Heh.  They need paint and straps and then the wings will be done.

I haven't set it yet though...

Love the home-spun yarns, and the doodle stitching!
I purchased a variety of frames today to do something Crafty to. Not sure where in Craft-Land they will take me yet, but it should be fun!

I put together a photo box/tent thing like the one noooitaremybirthday posted last week. It's awesome. The black and white backgrounds are both great (I think I like the black best! Going to experiment with it a little for my etsy listings.) and the clamp work lights are perfect. I think the tip about using bulbs that are similar to natural light is a good one, and they're easy to find. I spent about $40 total on everything, but I know you could do it for less if you shop around/thrift and don't go straight to Lowe's like a lazy-butt. Tongue

The best thing about it is that it's set up inside a storage closet and I can leave it up all the time! The thing I used before was a crappy one I made pretty poorly out of wooden picture frames. It was a good idea in theory, but the dollar store frames were very flimsy and using hot glue caused it to come apart all the time. Plus it was really awkward and there was nowhere to put it in my craft room even though it was fairly small.

I need to make one of these if I'm going to sell stuff on Etsy.  I have not found a good way to photograph my projects anywhere.

I've completed a bunch of projects and am really happy to have this board to force me to take photos (finally!)  I am absolutely terrible for giving things away before taking photos of them and then, of course, then I forget all about them!

Most of my projects so far this month have been for a swap and so the pictures will have to wait, but here is a picture of the hat that I made for my SO:

We were shopping in December and he nearly paid $35 for this hat:

I promised him that if he could wait until after Christmas, I'd make a decent ripoff for him for free (I had all of the colours in my stash already) ~ I think I succeeded, how about you?   Smiley  No, it's not exactly the same - BUT it was the very first I've altered a pattern to copy something else and so I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out!

And my promise to myself to stick to my project list no matter what this year...  Out the window!  I had made some crochet mitts for my SO last winter and made some t-shirt liners for them last night instead of starting a project that's on the list. Oops.  Smiley
