I searched through the logs and didn't find anything like this as far back as 2008. It's time for a Library Swap. I've worked in a library since 2009 (a graphic novel library to boot) and I think we all deserve to have some fun with our profession. Like a MARC display record of yourself embroidered on a pillow, a little pushcart for lotions (judas, the lotions and fingertip moisteners....) for example. Is anyone game?

This sounds like way too much fun!  I worked in a library for a year, and it was one of the best jobs ever.  There will always be a place for library work in my bookworm heart.  I can think of all kinds of sassy book-related t-shirts.  And there's Dewey Decimals to play with!  (Or Library of Congress Classifications, to be fair.)

I really hope we're not the only ones that think this would be fun!  I'd love to see this get off the ground.

Thanks, Sireal! I'm betting a lot of people are busy with the holidays although the swap could always be expanded to be Library and Bookstores. I'm not sure what elements that would add but having worked in each, both are beautiful places!

I'm a librarian and I'm in!  Jenya, if it doesn't work do you want to do a personal swap of library goodies?

I might be into this! And I'd be super surprised if there WASN'T a lot of interest. Bookie swaps always fill up fast.

I was in an I *heart* the library swap back in 2007. . . here's the link: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=163305.0 and gallery: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=171065.0

Pysche, that swap looks Awesome!  Smiley Bookplates and tea, talk about my jam.

I'm definitely going to make this a swap maybe for January so we'll get people aren't holiday crafting.

I would love this.  I have plans of going to grad school in the (hopefully near) future for library science.

Yes, it was a fun swap! January sounds good. I hope I will be able to get in on it then. Smiley

And oh, I'm not a librarian, I'm just at the library about 3 times a week. I'm constantly ordering books to read. In fact, I think the two "people" that call me most are my mom, and the automated library call saying I have books in. Lol.
