This was a first attempt at a patchwork skirt.  I really love it even though there are a couple small things I will do differently next time.  It was fun to make and fun to wear.  I have a feeling I'll be making a few more.

This second pics is pretty unflattering, but it shows the skirt well I think...

Thanks for looking!

I love that.  I've been wanting to make some long skirts.  I might have to give this a whirl.

Kudos to you for finishing a floor-length patchwork skirt!  I started a similar skirt for myself, but used squares from the same fabric.  I ended up getting tired of cutting/sewing squares and made the skirt knee-length instead of floor length like I'd originally planned.  I plan to make a broomstick skirt out of rectangles as my next project...

I love the colors of your skirt and it looks like so much fun to wear!  Good job!

This came out great!  The colors you used work very well together.

this is awesome, the colors are not too dark so that it would be depressing or anything, and they go well together so that there's not too much going on for my eye. awesome! what would you do differently? is there a pattern for a patch skirt somewhere that i've missed? Cheesy

The first thing I would do differently is make the first tier (the one that has the waistband) smaller.  It's too "gathery" which adds bulk at the waistline-and I'm chubby enough without extra fabric around my waist.  The second thing I would do is make the tiers more uniform in the amount of gathering.  Not sure if you can tell in these pics, but some tiers are more gathered than others.  The last thing I would do differently is make the tiers more uniform in height (the last tier is a tad shorter than the others).  All of those "mistakes" come from my aversion to measuring.  I didn't use a pattern or tutorial for this skirt, I just "winged it" (again, that comes from my aversion to measuring).
