I'm hosting Thanksgiving at my house for the first time this year! It'll be small, just 5 of us. I'm really excited and nervous about it!

Here's what I'm planning to make:
Turkey:
- I'm doing it a little different. I'm going to cut the turkey into pieces and make confit with the legs and wings. That's going to be served over some greens. The breast is going to get rubbed with herbs and roasted.
Sides:
- Wild Rice and Porcini Stuffing
- Mashed Potatoes
- Green Beans
Extras:
- Gravy
- Cranberry Sauce (from a can)
- Relish Tray with dill pickles, pickled beets, olives and pepperoncinis
Dessert:
- Apple Crisp
- Sweet Potato Pie
- Homemade Butter Pecan Ice Cream

How about you? What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

Sausage stuffing
Green beans
Potato rolls...*drool!*
Fruit salad
and for desert, spice cake!

We are having Thanksgiving here this year. Small dinner, only about 9 people. My husband is going to smoke our turkey. I am making dressing, gravy, macaroni and cheese pie, green beans, homemade cranberry sauce, sweet potato pie, banana pudding, and will probably make another side. Maybe broccoli or squash casserole.

Just my brother, my mom and I this year, but our plan is...

Ham - With honey, brown sugar and pineapple.  Done in my brand new slow cooker. =3

Stuffing - The stove-top kind, since we aren't having a turkey (Ick.)

Mashed potatoes

Gravy - Both a brown gravy and one made from the ham juices

Biscuits

And a bottle of sparkling apple cider to make it complete.  Nothing fancy, but it'll be nice all the same.

Oh goodness! All your Thanksgiving menus sound delicious! I could totally go for some smoked turkey, biscuits and banana pudding right now. Drool.

Just my daughter & me this year.  We're in Northern California which has influenced our menu:
-cod baked in scallop shells in bechemel with panko crust
- wilted greens
- Trader Joe's ricotta & arugula ravioli smothered with crab in cream & champagne sauce
- cranberry/cotes du rhone sauce
- tiny seckel pears poached in wine & ginger sauce with gourmet vanilla ice cream
(Sounds kinda boozy when I write it out like that!)
After dinner we're going to kick off the holiday season by watching Christmas themed movies with a nice fire. Going right now to set the table  Smiley
Hope everyone has a lovely Thanksgiving!

Wow. Some of those dishes sound divine. They ALL sound good... But some, like the poached pears and the rice/porcini stuffing.. Om nom nom.

I made a massive turkey (20.42#s). We had twelve people, and I wanted leftover turkey meat this year. I stuff butter and fresh herbs under the skin, and it bastes itself at first. Sage and onion bread stuffing with dried golden raisins, cherries and cranberries for the stuffing, tho it bakes by itself. I like to stuff the turkey with onions. Sweet rolls. Mashed potatoes. And the best cranberry sauce I've ever had. My friend made it with orange juice, fresh cranberries in with canned jellied cranberry sauce and a little ground up pepper flakes. I never thought of the flakes, but it was amazing. I ate it first. I never eat the cranberry sauce first. Dessert was typical custard pumpkin pie and a pumpkin/cream cheese frosting roll. I made an almond cheesecake with a biscotti/ground almond crust.

I absolutely love Thanksgiving. My best friend and I "share" Thanksgiving. One year at her place next at mine. This year was at her place. We usually have the traditional fare simply cause we love it.
Turkey and stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, simple salad, Waldorf salad, lettuce salad, condiments, corn, pumpkin, pecan and cherry pies. sugar free apple tart, fudge. We were only 9 this year (last yr it was 17) so more left overs this time. lol.
