An experiment in intarsia knitting. I used the same pattern I used before for blackwork to make this portrait of my son.
It's not perfect - a lot of tension variation - but it was a good exercise.

Keep at it!   ^_~  Tension gets easier the more you do intarsia projects.  You can sometimes use the tails to even it all out during the weaving-in process.

Did you try blocking? Apparently blocking intarsia projects helps even out the stitches more.
