Hi all!
I recently finished a "historically accurate" version of Snow White drawn by the artist Shoomlah. She's done a wonderful collection of historical fanart of the Disney princesses http://shoomlah.deviantart.com/gallery/29648049 and I couldn't wait to cosplay one of them.

Snood: The snood was made of a bunch of gold trim that I connected together by sewing white pearls to every joint. I then connected it to a strip of bias tape that has elastic sewn into it.

Bodice: I drafted the pattern for the bodice from my sloper patterns. The body of the bodice is blue suede with cotton piping. The sleeves are made of red boucle, gold jacquard and blue eyelet. The middle panel has free motion embroidery that I designed. The diagonal lines on the sleeves are also embroidered with gold zig zag stitching. The lining is blue denim that has a bunch of boning in it. The gold panel in the front has an "apple" that I made by glueing together a bunch of gold jewelry findings. The collar is a white sateen that snaps into the neckline of the bodice. Finally the bodice laces up in the back with gold laces.

Skirt: the skirt is a yellow casa satin that has a gold jacquard and red bias tape panel on it. It's heavily pleated and closes with a snap on the waistband. The skirt has straps on it so it sits high enough on my waist.

I'm quite happy with how the costume came out. It's been a while since I made a new costume for myself and this proved to be a fun project.

AAAAAH! I'm so happy to see this here! I saw your picture on Shoomlah's page and was so excited. I have a friend of mine who also wants to make Snow White's version of this. And I would like to try making Cinderella's. You did a really great job, perfect recreation.  Grin
