ok my dad likes to paint, use pastels, ect. Since fathers day and his birthday are coming up I thought I would make him an art smock. does anybody have an idea how to make one and if so, what fabric should I use?

This is what I do for my smocks:  thrift a nice dress shirt that is several sizes too big and remove the collar (carefully rip stitches and hem.)  I suppose you could dress it up with buttons or something manly.  Maybe remove the cuffs and replace with elastic so he can push them up or wear them down?

No matter what, use something breathable.  Smocks cover up your whole upper body and can get really hot quickly.  Also, it should be washable... so cotton!
