I started a poncho the other night, but got distracted by this pattern for a coffee cup cozy: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/leaf-cup-cuddler

It's so easy, and knits up so quick, I finished one yesterday, and made another this morning.

This first one I followed the pattern, and made it in fall colors:

I really didn't like how the tips of the leafs turn out the way the pattern in written, too pointy and then they curl (even after a first attempt at blocking). So when I made the second one this morning (for my mom, since she hinted rather broadly that she wanted one, lol) I altered the pattern, and like the leafs much better this way.

I don't use these things, but these are really nice! Maybe if I had one like this I would find a reason to use it. I like the first one better. It seems more like fresh fallen leaves to me. I'm gonna pin it!
