Hotpot problems!

Hey there,
I have a question about hotpot microkiln. My first one had a problem and I got a new one from the seller, but the new one also seems to not work properly.
The thing is that the fusing paper and fusing felt (I hope I translate it right), which you are supposed to put under the glass pieces, turn brown/black.
That did not happen before, it used to stay perfectly white even when the glass was fully fused and melted, so something is wrong.
Also the glass itself gets black stains by the way, which is not normal either.

It scares me a bit, I am afraid that it can cause a fire or something. What causes this problem? Does anyone know?

Sorry it took so long for a reply, but I had to research your questions. Especially since I do not own a hot pot kiln.

Most of the things I read say that either the paper has been reused (which is not recommended), the kiln has fired too hot or if you glass is not dry.

Sorry I could not be more helpful with your questions, but if you are more specific I can do more research.

I have a Hot Pot and the paper does go brown/black as the binder burns off - when fusing is complete, it becomes a white powder. I use a layer of ECO FIBRE PAPER that is 1mm thick covered by THINFIRE PAPER,
