Okay after much research, I think I might have my angle for my swap partner, Najaorama. Hopefully, it all goes swimmingly and I get it all done before Monday; so that way I can send.
I have to send early because I'm going in for surgery on Wednesday and will have 6 weeks of recoup time ahead of me, and no driving allowed. I will go nuts TRUST ME! LOL

k. I will apologize in advance, but I have to have a rant.
Let me start by saying that I have nothing against christians as a whole. It is ignorant people trying to instruct others that bothers the crap out of me. I have an acquaintance at work that is a absolutely sweet girl and a genuine good person. we happened to get on the subject of marriage yesterday and I was absolutely shocked by what she had to say. Her and her hubby were having some difficulties and decided to get some christian marriage counseling. This f-ing counselor has her convinced that marriage has nothing to do whith hapiness, but that holiness should be her goal. that she should be totally selfless towards her husband and subservient to all of his needs.  only in that will she be closer to god and a good wife. What a crock.
I do have to say that my view of marriage is mildly feminist and wildly romantic, but my husband and I are a team. He is the most wonderful man i have ever met (even though I pick on him occasionally) and i would do most anything for him, but we are equals.  I tried to tell her that being a helpmate does not mean being a doormat, and that happiness is a must for both parties, but she just said that I didn't understand.
this has been bothering me since. I know there isn't much I can say, but it did give me insight as to one reason divorce rates are so high. grrrr Ignorance is not bliss and i hope against hope that this counselor will not counsel away their love.

sorry guys. had to get it out.

That is what is supposed to be. Equal. I am lucky enough to be married to my best friend and we are one hell of a team. It frustrates me that she is being taught to be less than herself and doesnt see an issue.

It is one of the reasons, I have issues with people that go to extremist churches. She apparently does go to one, or at least the Christian counselor does. The first thing I know that would have slipped out of my mouth would have been, "Was he a MAN, that gave you this advice?" If no, "Then she apparently is an extremist in her faith belief." If male, "Figures!" Tongue I know my reactions either way.

My husband and I are a team as well, and we have always been that way. Also, we were best friends before married so that helped some. I'm sure as heck not going to say we haven't had our problems in the world, the gods know we have. For several years we raised the kids one way, and as we all changed views over the years, each transcended to a different path and some are still seeking.

If she is also to be submissive to her man, I would say, you're right...Tongue I should be...According to the bible I'm supposed to care for kids, and man...doesn't say anything about working for a living. So I won't help paying OUR bills. You're the man you provide. I'll watch tv and raise the kids while I bring you a beer at the end of your work day and keep your house clean.

I guess let her be happy in her submissive nature. I've never understood really how anyone can be submissive to the point they lose their self in the process. Even in the Christian belief, we are given FREE WILL. Well my will says, I will stand side by side with my man, not 10 paces behind him.Tongue Okay...I think I ranted with you long enough. LOLOL
