This all started because my 4 your old wanted to be a Dragon for Halloween.  Problem is, he's the size of a 6 year old (very very tall).  I couldn't find a Dragon costume in that size that I liked until I found McCall's pattern M6185.  It was perfect!  And even though I have barely sewn anything I braved it and gave it a shot.  I couldn't figure out the whole interfacing thing to save my life, but I was happy with how it turned out.
