Use them as the (is it the warp or the weft?) for a tote-bag; you could buy strip leather for the other direction (that is, the horizontal straps could buckle around the bag, while the vertical straps could be strip leather).  Then a large, long one on the sides making the handle.  Perhaps it would require a few stitches to hold together, but it would probably come together with a little help.
