Ok gals, if everything goes well I will be in Portugal for next semester. I will flight to Lisbon first and I am planning to spend a couple of days then I will be in Leiria until 23rd of September then I will go to Tomar and live there for about 3 months..

Do you have something to suggest me? Any crafty place? Maybe a thrift store or flea market?

And maybe this is not crafty but I am planning to be sporty as well and even though I never ride a bike before I would like to buy/rent a bike, so Tomar is ok for bikes?

Please help me Wink

Hi, Tinybits!

.I never placed one post in the forum, but I thought I could help you, and it was this that I found:

Fair of S. Bernardo in Alcobaça( Leiria) invites to visit the traditional Fair of S. Bernardo, in Merco-Alcobaça, of 20 the 25 of August. It attends the musical shows, and the typical  art and crafts.

Fairs of crafts and Antiques:

2º Saturday of the Month: Praça Rodrigues Lobo, em Leiria

3º Saturday of the Month: Jardim do Cardal, em Pombal

4º Saturday of the Month: Praça stephens, na Marinha Grande

2º Sunday of the Month: Praça Mouzinho de Albuquerque, na Batalha

3º Sunday of the Month: Praça D. Afonso Henrriques, em Alcobaça

4º Domingo do Mês: Largo da República, em Vieira de Leiria

Market of century XIX in Batalha (Leiria) Imagine  that travel in Time to century XIX . stop at the Monastery of Santa Maria of the Victory, Batalha, in broad daylight of market. Per one day, the imagination can become reality so that it discovers typical products, costumes and sounds of long ago. The 18 of September, really good to return to the past! Mercado do séc. XIX na Batalha

Big Fair of  Arts and Crafts at Portugal! 25 JUNHO - 3 JULHO 2005 At FIL Parque de exposições

And this site might helpl you with the Bike ride if you want to ask them.
