Hi,

I am a knitter/crocheter and just PM'ed.
As long as my swap partner realizes the amount of time invested in a good knit or crochet project, I am all for the exchange Smiley I just do not want to end up hurting the other party's feelings thinking they've been shortchanged.

Well since the sign up runs until the 30th and I'm still ineed of 2 more knitters I'll let this thread go until the 30th and hope we have a few more knitter takers! But this weekend I did get three so I'm not giving up hope.

Don't worry though, I still plan on the mail by date being 2 months from posting the partners to give everyone plenty of time to finish.

Just found this post.  Don't ask me where I've been!   I couldn't tell ya.
So, I'm so excited about this swap.  I am anxiously waiting to here from my partner in crime.
I agree about the knitting being more involved.  I am on the sewing end, but bought a beginners book on knitting.  Don't worry, I'm not taking over anyone's craft.  It took me 2 days to finish a small coin purse with a button closure.  Hello slow mo-  I do love all the great yarn and have become infatuated with the process.
Point is- I will not feel shortchanged by given 2 or 3 things and getting one fab knitted gift.  No worries.
August sounds like a good due date to.  No Slackers!!

That made me smile. You should see the long I take to SEW a coin purse Wink You only need to practice. Until the knitting starts to run in your veins.

like other people have been saying-most good sewing projects take a while. I can't just whip something out in a couple of hours. I like to take my time, overlock every seam, rip it out if it's not perfect...anything other than a tiny purse or clutch or something (which take about 2 hours) can take me a whole day or more to finish! So let's not underestimate anyone's time, seamstresses or knitters.

Of course! But believe me, a simple medium knitted purse takes about 10-12 hours to make. if you don't include the lining and sewing part.
But I don't mind at all receiving a sewed purse for a knitted one, I know that it took a lot of time and criativity to make as well!
I think the point here was the 3 things rule. When I make knitted purses for swaps, I don't send as well as many objects as I send otherwise.
I always love the purses and sewing stuff you girls make. It looks magical to me, who can't sew! Cheesy
