Thundercats are on the move
Thundercats are loose
Feel the magic
Hear the roar
Thundercats are loose
Thunder, thunder
Thunder, Thundercats

Lana was recently introduced to the 80s cartoon Thundercats.and instantly fell in love with these justice seeking cats: Lion-O, Wilykit and Wilykat, Cheetara, Tygra, Panthro, Jaga, and Snarf.. Of course she most identified with WilyKit, twin sister to WilyKat.  Lana usually loves to dress up as a superheroine and thought it would be fun to make a costume this year so we collaborated and came up with a winter version of WilyKits outfit so that Lana could brave the cold.

Sweetness vs Sass! Thundercat Roar!

The making of WilyKit: 2 XL tees, fabric paint, and felt.  This was perfect for making a size 10 dress...note that the sides that you cut away will form the sleeves.  Smiley
Lana helped by inking in the Thundercats symbol on the felt.

The finished outfit complete with the bombs and capsules and an outfit for her doll Emily that she says is WilyKitten.  Smiley

Enjoy!!  Hope you vote for WilyKit Lana!  Smiley

Oh how fun! It's really awesome to see a kid getting into some of the classics from our (or at least my) childhood. Excellent job on that logo!

I've never actually seen Thundercats (um guess I am a bit old for that one) but Lana looks adorable and the costume is great! The sleeves look wonderful. No way I would imagine you were able to make those out of the fabric left from cutting down the sides. Lana did an excellent job on the symbol!

Thanks omgitsalisa!!  I was really happy that Lana loved the Thundercats.  It was my sis' favorite show.  In fact she had a cat named Pudding Pop Cheetara Tygra Panthro Lion-O.

Thanks Averia!!  Crafting with Lana was so much fun!  I'm hoping to do more with here as she gets older!!  It was nerve-wracking watching her ink in the stencil...though she probably is more careful than I am.  LOL.
