Hello Everyone!

Early in October, my mom sent me a box of leather scraps left over from a furniture restoration project she was working on.  They were too supple and luxurious not to use, so I looked at it for inspiration for Halloween.    I wanted to use it for armor, but something that felt very feminine, so Steampunk was the perfect fit. My character was a Lady Adventurer, ready to take on the wild with a wink!

I love houndstooth!  This vest will get a lot of rewear, I have a feeling.

Here is my sketch.  I am pretty proud of the fact I was able to execute it (and then some!)

First of all, I just have to say that you are just unbelievably beautiful. Also, we have pretty much the same hair color and cut. (until I change it again) lol
You did such a great job on all of it! I am impressed and jealous.

this costume is fantastic! I can definitely see all of the pieces being reused on their own in everyday wear - great dual purpose!

Thanks!  That is *exactly* what I was going for!  I get so frustrated putting time into costumes that get worn once.  The bloomers are GREAT PJ shorts, everyone needs a good peasant blouse, and the bustle can be put over a long skirt or even trousers and totally change the look.  Its adjustable, too, so I can use it for costuming other people, too!
