Hello everyone,

I have seen those wine glasses which are used for wax candle making (never tried that myself)

Can someone tell me if i can use a glue gun to create static drink showpieces?

Has anyone tried it before?

Thanks in advance for your replies Smiley

I don't think a glue gun would give the right effect.  For one, it tends to be cloudy, when there's a lot of it.  For another, I think you'd see visible layers form.  I've seen them done with gel candle medium (without wicks) and with gelatin for a short term use, and I've heard of people using resin.

Hi Aislynn,

Thanks for your response, i do understand that i wont get the wax effect with the glue gun, just imagine dropping some stuff in the glass randomly as you create layers?

I have seen the froth wax candle (a cousin made 1), had 3 layers, but thats not wat i want, need something uncommon and eye candy :p

Am hesitant to try that lol

Ooh, I like the idea of suspending things in it!

This is the candle gel I'm talking about: http://www.candlewic.com/store/Product.aspx?q=c14,p508&title=High-Density-Candle-Gel (though I'm NOT suggesting you should buy it, especially in bulk!  That was just the first link I found)

I think if you had more "stuff" than glue, it would look very cool.  Even if some of the stuff was clear marbles.

Thanks for the link, but the shipping charges to asia will be double of the MSRP if not equal.

I should try to get some stuff that can be suspended inside the glass, i do not want to make a proper candle, just an artistic show off thingy  Roll Eyes
