So this year for Halloween, I decided to try my own spin on the Doctor's beloved time machine, the TARDIS. I used a Simplicity poodle skirt pattern and constructed the TARDIS appliqué out of felt myself. Using my teacher's embroidery machine, I stitched "Police Box," "Pull to Open," and the infamous sound of the TARDIS, "Vworp," onto the felt.

Here is the skirt in its entirety! It's super poofy Smiley

The crinoline underskirt! I shortened the original pattern, so otherwise there would be three rows of crinoline, but this gave me just the right amount of poof.

An up-close view of the TARDIS appliqué. I know the actual one has four blocks, but I had to do three because otherwise the proportions would have been a bit off. This was really fun to make!

The first "Vworp" stitched above the rickrack Smiley

Second vworp!

And a slightly blurry picture of the third vworp!
I also made a fez for my friend who is dressing up as the Eleventh Doctor but sadly, no pictures yet Smiley
