This is my costume for a cancan dancer that I put together for this year's Halloween festivities. The elements are as follows: I started with an older semi-formal dress for a base. It had a liner and some tulle sewn in it. I built on that and sewed several more layers of tulle in the lining. I then added some more tulle and some handmade roses to the bodice. As a last minute addition, I added a corset that I found on a sale rack a few years ago. The head piece is a satin headband embellished with feathers, roses and lace. I made the arm bands out of a satin-like iridescent fabric. The choker is also diy, made of satin ribbon, more lace, and a pendant I found at a local craft store.  Oh and my "bloomers" are black spanx-like underpants with red lace sewn on them. I know real cancan girls wouldn't have worn them, but I thought it worked well.  Smiley
This was a super fun costume to make and wear!!!
Thanks for looking, Emmy
