I had three ones in my pocket and thought why the hell not people make rings out of coins. Somehow I came to the conclusion they needed to be Harry Potter so I based them off a song by The Ministry of Magic called 'The Bravest Man I Ever Knew'

I'd be so tickled if one of these bills happened to find its way into my pocket when I got change at the store!  I think that if any craftster happens upon one, we ought to log it, just so that we can see where it went!  Wink

i think this is kinda neat, but isnt there a law in the states about defacing money? i know there is one in canada...when they first came out with toonies (our two dollar coins) the centers werent strong so they would actually pop out very easily and some people actually got in alot of trouble for turning them into necklaces. I think its kinda on the same level as getting in trouble for jaywalking(its something alot probably wont enforce) but its still something to concider.

Yeah it is illegal to deface money, but it would be fun to see one of these pop up in my wallet.

I am aware that there is a law against it, I felt that if people can post doing coin work than I should be alright with my paper work. If a mod thinks it will be an issue I will remove it then.

I've seen random notes left on dollars in my change before, thats why I did it

oh i wasnt meaning that you should remove it from the forum, i was meaning its something to concider before you make a bunch more of them in general. I do think that it can be neat and interesting when people do that kinda stuff, i just thought id point out that its something that you could get fined or something for doing (im not sure what the gov. does if they catch someone doing that honestly). Im sure alot of people who make real coin jewelry probably dont actually know that its technically not allowed which is also why i thought i'd mention it.
