Hello!

This is my first post and I am only a beginner crafter, but I found a beginners guide to knitting in my local charity shop and it had a pattern in it for dog jumpers so I decided to give it a go. Here is my little dog wearing his new outfit  Smiley

It was quite easy to make. The neck was done in rib then the body in stocking stitch. The hardest bit was the stitching around the legs and over the back which I had to do with double pointed needles.

Hope you like it!

That's amazing... and what an adorable dog! (Is he a Jack Russell puppy? He looks just like Wishbone only so little!) I'm a beginning knitter myself, and haven't yet dared to attempt anything like a sweater, but the idea of trying a small kitty-size one for my cat is getting tempting. Anyway, lovely work and adorable puppy. <3

Yes he is a Jack Russell, but he is 2 and a half now so not really a puppy anymore (still acts like a big baby though!)  Smiley

Aww, how sweet! Because obviously the only thing cuter than cute little dogs is cute little dogs who look even *littler* than you expected. Wink

That is such a cute doggy sweater!  You did a good job on it.  Did it take very long to knit?  Ive been knitting for awhile now, I can do hats, gloves ect, but Im so slow at it.  I need to find a good sweater pattern like that for my new little puppy.  Ive been waiting because hes still a puppy so I was thinking he would grow to fast, but hes a runt and I think its stunted his growth because he hasnt grown any since I adopted him.

Want to learn to crochet or knit?  I have a ton of extra crochet hooks & circular knitting needles.  Will throw in some pattern books and yarn for anyone interested in a swap.

Oh my goodness!! What a cutie! The sweater and your pup Smiley. He looks very happy in his new outfit.

You really did a great job on this! I hope that you'll share more projects (and more pics of cute doggie).

Aw thanks, I would love to make him a whole wardrobe of outfits but I think my boyfriend might a) refuse to walk the dog and b) dis-own me!

I will have to search craftster for some dog related projects that aren't clothes. I was thinking that (if/when) I get a sewing machine for christmas (please santa!) I might have a go at making him a bed like one of these Cath Kitson ones:

I am working on a stash of hand knitted christmas tree decs at the moment so I will post some pics of those when I am done  Smiley

I agree with spentonrainydays.....adorable sweater and dog! I've been looking for a dog sweater (you say "jumper" so can I assume you're British? I'm Canadian so I guess we're kind of neighbours, hahahah!) but they're mostly complicated or just crazy-looking.

Yours is perfect! Would you ne interested in sharing the pattern?

Also, it sounds like this isn't knit in the round, am I right?
