Ever since I started bellydancing in February Ive been crazy about the sparkly costumes, so I devoted a portion of my (all too long) summer vacation to stitch up one of my own. The skirt is something I had laying around, that I  cut up in one of the sides and added a whole bunch of star shaped sequins.

The bra is a regular black bra that I purchased at a summer sale at H&M and covered (yes literally) in a mixture of black, dark blue and purpleish/greenish sequins, dotted by the occasional star shaped one. The aim was to make it resemble the night sky, and while the picture perhaps doesn't do it justice it looks really gorgeous in real life. The dangly bits are a thifted necklace that I've mercilessly divided up for this strands, and the rest of the beads were used to secure the sequins. Let me just say, people tend to stare when you're sitting on the train sewing sequins onto a bra Wink

The veil is homemade too, but the coin-belt is a gift from a friend who brought it home from Jordan.

Price total: About 70 dkk (13 USD)

That is gorgeous! It really looks amazing, so much better than most of the bellydance costumes out there that cost hundreds of dollars. *Rocks*

I can't imagine it looking better in person!  The top definitely looks like the night sky.  You did a terrific job!  And I bet the shape of the skirt shows hip work really well.

Your patience is truly commendable; I think I'd be done after the first sequin. I love the addition of the stars.
