They're fab  Though there's something a bit zombie-like about their eyes! Or maybe I'm still in halloween mode. Zombies rock anyway. I'm loving little houndstooth owl!

Oh, and when shortening zippers, just tuck the cut end into the lining and sew over it with your machine. Just go slowly over the teeth so you don't break your needle! (Like I do. All the time  )

Thanks, Maimy, I'll give it a try. And yeah, they do sort of have a thousand yard stare thing going on, don't they? Maybe I'll give them some pupils.

very cool owl pouches. i think some offbeat pupils would make a nice finishing touch--you can just try out two different sized/color buttons, a little off, without committing and see what you think

Oh I'm sorry - I didn't see your question - I just noticed it now!  You can stitch right over the plastic teeth with your sewing machine - just go slowly!

Oh! I do have a bunch of plastic zippers that are 7 to 9 inch. I've never shortened a zipper. By sew over, do you mean I can do that with my machine stitch or do I have to hand sew it?

I think that they're lovely. I'm a little unsure of the eyes though. If I made them, I'd have probably added pupils. If someone gave me one as a present I wouldn't be complaining though

Very cute! You used great fabrics. But they could use some little buttons or something on the eyes...they are a bit creepy
