Canuck amuck! Why are we so interested in all things Mexico, eh?

I am also going as a sugar skull for Halloween and can't wait to see your finished costume.

As for the eyelashes, I would suggest using some black eye liner first, then face paint, then eyelashes. If you are using grease paint I fear that the glue may not stick very well, so if you use eyeliner around the area where the falsies will be it will still be black but will probably stay put better.

I like the idea of color on the forehead, but what you have is so straight compared to all the other more organic shapes. I would put something there with curvier lines to kind of match everything else.

A rose for the forehead would be nice. Fake lashes before the black. Maybe red lashes?

hehe! i live in MEXICO
and ... just came back from buying sugar skulls!!!!
it's a tradition in here to swap sugar/chocolate skulls, so i just came back from buying my swap partner chocolate skull, boyfriend`s sugar skull and random little skulls for friends!!

we also write kind of funny poems, called literary skulls, that talk about a person, as if he/she was dead making fun of things that are caracteristic for that person. kind of ... if the person is chubby "dead felt jealous for being skinny and took  her away" but in a more poetic and funny way.

I live in mexico, I can send loads of mexican stuff ...I'd swap for crafting supplies and scrapbooking supplies (PM if interested)

In this case, I would recommend the BLACK  duo eyelash glue. It comes in black or clear, and usually I find black too messy, but since you are painting the area around your eyes black I think that it will blend in with your makeup better. I'd wear the crazy lashes... sephora has great ones, but around halloween I would think you could get inexpensive ones at any drug store.

The dollars stores here are loaded with falsies right now for only a buck or two. I have a collection already but I'm telling you, I am mighty tempted to load up every time I go in there!

My daughter went to her Halloween dance tonight as a Day of the Dead Sugar Skull girl.  She got 2nd place for best costume!!! (next to 3 people dressed as an oreo cookie)  She did wear the fake lashes, and we put them on after the makeup.  We used a deep blue black shadow right around her eyes, so the lashes stuck very well.  As for the forhead, we did a heart on her forhead with designs around it.  I will be posting it in the Halloween album after the 31st.

I think yours looks great!  I like the way you did the petals on the eyes, and the shape of the nose.  Also.  Put the flowers in again, and then see what you think. I find it makes a big difference.
