Hi all,

Any interest in doing a swap around a general love of books?  It could be things like crafts made from books or book pages, it could reference your favorite book, etc... Right now I'm thinking the only restriction would be that it needs to relate in some way to your partner's list of like/dislikes and favorite books.

I'd get that whether or not you want to run it as a "Reading Swap Round 2" (oh, and feel free to do so if you want!), you'd get a lot of interest. People just seem to come out of the woodwork for books/reading swaps.

I like this, and I know what you mean by theming it around books, rather than reading. It might encourage more very book-related crafts, like making things FROM books, rather than bookmarks or book covers or something. I know that personally I'll NEVER get an e-reader because I just love books sitting around, even if I'm not reading them!

Oooh, that is a GREAT swap theme!  I love it!  I'd love to have people pick a favorite book (or at least, a theme book) and have a requirement that one of the crafts relate in some way to that.  I'd also love to see something like a medium or large size requirement for a thing or things relating to books (in any way).  This could include using books to make things like the awesome book prints, book cutouts, etc. on Etsy, or something simple like making an Alice In Wonderland themed Mug Rug (if your partner loves AIW).  We could also include throwing in a couple of books with it -- I know I have a couple that I love too much to toss but wouldn't mind sharing.

What do you think?  Thanks for the super quick response and info on that great swap!!

I participated in the reading swap with psyche and it was soooo great!  I loved having someone "pick" some new books for me and get reading related items ( I got book plates, and tea and a wonderfule book journal).
