I made this aviator hat for the Apocalyptic Fashion swap. I don't have much hat-making experience (in fact, I made 2 other versions of this before I got the sizing right. . . ), but I was really pleased with how this turned out!


I used some stiff black canvas-y material I found in remnants, white faux fur for the ears and front section, and the strap and D-Rings. I used this basic tutorial, at least roughly (basically, I looked at the picture of how the pieces were cut, and then just went for it! http://cristophine.deviantart.com/art/Aviator-Cap-Tutorial-84150949

I think I'm in love. I made a hat kind of like that for my sister last year and it wasn't half as well done. Great job!

I make stuff out of other stuff.
