This is my first needlepoint project in about 16 years! Somewhere I saw tetris magnets, and got the idea to make them myself.

Materials:

Plastic Mesh Canvas
6 colors embroidery thread
needle
scissors
adhesive magnet roll
cookie sheet (or other magnetic surface)

I did a google search for tetris shape outlines. I only came up with 6 of the 7 shapes, but once I got the hang of it, that 7th shape was easy! They turned out a little smaller than I had originally planned, but that's okay. I made three of each shape. First I planned for how large each square would be, then I traced the outline of each shape on the canvas and cut it out. I then "colored" each square with the embroidery thread. I then cut out a strip of magnet to fit the piece, and stuck it onto the back of a cookie sheet for safe keeping. I laid a heavy book on top of the shapes that I had finished. Because the magnet was in a roll, it was kind of curved whereas the plastic canvas was not. If the adhesive doesn't stick, I'm going to hot glue the magnet onto the canvas.

The final result:

And the playing surface, it also gives you an idea of how small the pieces actually are. The brown magnet at the bottom serves as the bottom of the screen.

I want these! They are so cool! Our fridge is covered with things though so I don't know where I'd put them...

I don't know what size it was exactly, but it was the smallest mesh that Micheal's had.

Those look great!

I gave my now ex a set for I made a couple of years ago.  He has them on his gun safe and still loves them!  They are endless hours of fun.  Smiley
