Hello!

I  made this quilt a couple months ago for my manager's baby shower. She's didn't seem to be into 'girly' themes but is a HUGE Hawkeye fan (like many Iowans lol) so I thought this would be perfect.

This is only the second quilt I've ever made (the first being here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=363673.msg4269829#msg4269829). So, I'm sure I made plenty of mistakes, but overall I'm pleased!

There's definitely some puckering as I did it myself and I really had no idea what I was doing, but I'm telling myself that it just gives it 'handmade' appeal  Wink

It came together in under two weeks as I started only after I received the invitation...Yeah, sometimes I create unnecessarily difficult crafting situations for myself. It was all worth it to see the looks on everyone's faces at the shower, especially those who didn't know that I'm a closet Crafster  Wink

nice!  How'd you keep the minky on the back so smooth?  The one time I tried it I ended up with massive puckers so I've been scared to try again.

Did I spy some puppy fabric mixed in there?  I really like the black and yellow colors together

Truthfully I did create HUGE puckering in the backing the first time I tried it...I had to carefully rip the seam and try again after adding wayyyy more safety pins...Luckily that seemed to do the trick  Grin

Absolutely gorgeous, love it, I'm looking for inspiration for my 2nd ever quilt (I only make them for my babies  Grin) and I may look at trying one of these in pinks and reds. Thanks for sharing
