So, I've been busy making bats from this pattern: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=392186.0  I made some bats to give away to the little kids that will come to my door on Halloween.  After my 13yr old son saw them, he asked me if I could make him a realistic looking one.  I got a milk crate full of fabric for a $1.00 at a garage sale last weekend.  In it was the brown faux fur fabric I used to make my son's bat.  My son and I think he is so cute and so soft!  The other bats were made from various fabrics, including some really cool looking bandanas.  Their wings are made from felt, and they have plastic safety eyes.  I have a few more cut out, these are just the ones I've finished so far.

Thank you all for the lovely comments.  Miss Barbara, I live in Oklahoma.  If you all want a bat, you are more than welcome to come trick or treating at my house  Grin !  I don't always find good fabric at garage sales.  It's a hit or miss kind of thing.  Some times people want too much for their fabric, or it's stained/smells bad.  When I buy it in bulk, I sort out what I can use, and donate the rest.  If anybody is interested in trades, I'm willing to trade some of my rather large stash (hoard) of fabric for patterns.

"gotgrey", you are such a artist & patience you must be a fun Lady to be with & craft with.  Wink I love to go to garage or yard sells, but I don't seem to have time & my Hubby doesn't want me to bring anymore (junk he calls it) things home. So I don't go very often.
I Love your bats & it's so neat that you found all that fabric!! Great job!!
I also would like to go trick or treating at your house!!! Cheesy

Sharalee, I'm a stay at home mom.  I go to garage sales on the weekends.  But, not every weekend.  I would not call myself an artist and I am not a patient person.  I'm not fun to be with or to craft with.  I have my own room to craft in, so when I go in there, I'm totally in "the craft zone" so to speak.  You will find me listening to my music (very loudly because I'm hard of hearing) hunched over my sewing machine w/my tongue sticking out the side of my mouth, and very focused and concentrating.  I am a task master, and competitive so I prefer to work alone.  I'm not easy to work with, so nobody will work with me.  Which is okay with me.  I've always just counted on myself to get things done.  My husband doesn't like for me to go to garage sales.  He too, calls the stuff I bring home junk.  I've gotten way better at limiting myself to what I buy.  I think my husband sees this, and knows it makes me happy to get out of the house, which is something I rarely do (leave the house that is). But, thank you for all the lovely compliments.  I appreciate it.  Smiley
